Cookie Policy

Last updated: 9 August 2026

Navtrac (navtrac.io) is operated by CITS LTD, Unit 7 Initial Business Centre, Wilsons Business Park, Manchester M40 8WN, United Kingdom. You can contact us at navtrac@citsltd.uk.

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and browser local storage Navtrac uses and how you can manage them. We keep this deliberately minimal. Necessary storage supports sign-in and preferences. If our administrators enable Google Analytics, optional analytics storage is used only after you accept it. We do not use advertising cookies or sell personal information.

1. Cookies we set

CookiePurposeDuration
Session cookieKeeps you signed in to the web application between requests. HttpOnly and sent only to our own server.Up to 7 days

2. Optional analytics cookies

When enabled, Google Analytics 4 helps us understand aggregated website usage such as page views, sessions, approximate country or region, device category, browser, traffic source, sign-ups, and completed subscriptions. We configure analytics to avoid sending email addresses, API keys, vessel searches, or URL query parameters.

ProviderPurposeWhen used
Google Analytics 4Measures aggregated website usage and conversions so we can improve Navtrac.Only after you choose “Accept analytics”, and only while analytics is enabled.

If you pay by card, Stripe (our payment processor) may set its own cookies on Stripe-hosted checkout pages for fraud prevention and to complete the payment. Those cookies are governed by Stripe's own privacy and cookie policies.

3. Local storage we use

Local storage is a browser feature similar to cookies but stored entirely on your device and never sent automatically with requests. We use it for:

EntryPurpose
Authentication tokensAccess tokens that keep you signed in to the web app, admin console, or developer portal (e.g. navtrac_access_token, navtrac_devportal_token).
Theme preferenceRemembers your light/dark mode choice (navtrac-theme).
Recent searches & saved filtersRemembers your recent vessel searches and saved map filters on your device (navtrac_recent_searches, navtrac_saved_filters).
Analytics consentRemembers whether you accepted or declined optional analytics (navtrac_analytics_consent).

4. Managing cookies and local storage

  • Signing out removes your authentication tokens from local storage and ends your session.
  • Browser settings let you block or delete cookies and clear site data (usually under Privacy or Site Settings). Blocking necessary cookies and local storage for navtrac.io will prevent you from signing in.
  • Preferences such as theme and recent searches are only stored on the device you used; clearing site data resets them.

5. Consent

Necessary cookies and storage do not require consent. Optional Google Analytics remains disabled until you accept it. You can change your choice at any time below.

Analytics preference: Not chosen
