Terms of Service
Last updated: 9 August 2026
Navtrac (navtrac.io) is operated by CITS LTD, Unit 7 Initial Business Centre, Wilsons Business Park, Manchester M40 8WN, United Kingdom. You can contact us at navtrac@citsltd.uk.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Navtrac web application and related services (the "Service") as a subscriber or registered user. By creating an account or otherwise using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms, our Acceptable Use Policy, and our Privacy Policy. If you access the Navtrac API with a developer account, the Developer & API Terms apply to that access instead of Sections 3 and 4 of these Terms.
1. The Service
Navtrac provides a maritime intelligence platform with live vessel tracking on an interactive map, vessel search and profiles, watchlists, fleet management, route planning, weather overlays, port analytics, geofencing, email alerts, AI-assisted risk and reporting features, and data export. Features available to you depend on your plan. Vessel positions and metadata are derived from AIS and public sources and may contain inaccuracies, gaps, or delays — see our Data Policy for details and limitations.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your login credentials and one-time codes confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy.
3. Subscriptions, day passes, and billing
- Subscriptions. Paid plans renew automatically (monthly or annually, as selected) until cancelled. You may cancel at any time from the in-app billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep plan access until then.
- Day passes. Day passes grant access to the stated feature set for the stated duration, activate on purchase, and expire automatically. They do not renew.
- Payments. Payments are processed by our payment processor, Stripe. All fees are billed in the currency shown at checkout and are exclusive of any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
- Price changes. We may change plan pricing; changes apply from your next renewal after reasonable notice.
Refunds and cancellations are handled as described in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
4. Plan limits and fair use
Each plan includes documented limits (for example watchlist size, number of fleets, trajectory history, and export capabilities). You agree not to circumvent plan limits, feature gating, or authentication. Use of the Service must remain consistent with normal interactive use and the Acceptable Use Policy.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of data you create in the Service, such as fleet lists, watchlists, geofences, and alert configurations. You grant CITS LTD a limited licence to host and process that data solely to operate the Service for you. You are responsible for ensuring that any email alert recipients you configure have agreed to receive those emails.
6. Intellectual property
All software, designs, databases, and trademarks of the Service remain the property of CITS LTD or its licensors. Except as expressly permitted by these Terms or your plan's export features, you may not copy, resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service or its data. See the Data Policy for permitted use of exported data.
7. Disclaimer
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. It is not navigation-grade and must not be used as the sole basis for navigation, safety-of-life, collision-avoidance, or emergency-response decisions. AI-generated content (risk scores, assistant answers, fleet reports) is informational only and is not legal, compliance, or professional advice.
8. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud). Subject to that, CITS LTD excludes all implied warranties and limits its aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service to the fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of profit, or loss of data.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for material breach of these Terms, with notice where reasonably practicable. Sections that by their nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) survive termination.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers retain any mandatory protections and forum rights of their country of residence.
